Popular Malayalam actors Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, Dileep and Kavya Madhavan, who campaigned for actor-turned-politician K.B. Ganesh Kumar of the Kerala Congress (B), a member of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), are facing a 'red wrath' from Marxist cadres in Kollam district.
Allegedly, on Monday, the Marxist cadres (who support the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) Kollam district secretary K. Rajagopal) tore the posters of the latest releases China Town and Christian Bothers involving the actors.
Reacting to the issue, CPM MP K.N. Balagopal said: "We condemn it. Maybe what happened (was) a spontaneous reaction." However, comedian and character actor Jagdeesh, who also campaigned for the UDF, reacted differently, saying: "Any publicity is good for a new film!"
In another instance, the DYFI workers had protested against Kavya Madhavan on Sunday by showing black flags and shouting go back slogans when she arrived at Karunagapally for the inauguration of a private firm
