Seven Malayalam films, including Mammootty's Pranchiyettan & the Saint, Santosh Sivan's Makaramanju, Kavya Madhavan's Gaddama, Prithviraj's Veetilekkulla Vazhi, Sreenivasan's Athmakatha and Salim Kumar's Adaminte Makan Abu were nominated for the National Film Awards for 2010.
Other much acclaimed Malayalam films like TD Dasan Standard VI B, Electra and Yugapurushan could not find place in the list of nominations. The national jury for film awards reportedly has no film personalities from Kerala among its members this time.
